Salary: $54,080.00 to $72,800.00 /year

Qualifications: Post secondary degree in Business or Finance. CPA preferred or equivalent experience and education. Candidates should have 5+ years in financial management.

General Description of Work: The Finance Manager will perform various job duties that are essential to the ongoing functioning and efficiency of the business’s accounting and operational systems. The Finance Manager will also be responsible for overseeing identical duties for affiliated business of the organization. These job duties will focus on core finance and project management duties related to budget control and reporting. The Finance Manager will play an integral part of the management team – leadership and teamwork are essential in this position.

Position Responsibilities:

Finance (70%):

  • Lead and review all day-to-day transactions related to Accounts Payable, and Receivables
  • Lead and approve all day-to-day purchasing
  • Lead and approve biweekly submission of payroll
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations for each financial institution account and/or credit card
  • Complete and submit monthly and annual tax filings and reports
  • Complete and submit monthly benefits and pension reporting
  • Complete monthly reconciliation on all inventory assets
  • Assist with financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, related to bank accounts, loans, capital assets, etc.
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Assist in developing operational budgets, and variance reports
  • Develop and recommend procedures for identifying and mitigating financial reporting risks and fraud risks and ensuring approved procedures are followed
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures relating to all financial processes
  • Ensure that all accounting and operational systems as they relate to finance are working as intended (Prestashop, SONAR, Quickbooks, etc)

Projects (20%):

  • Assist in developing operational budgets, and variance reports as it relates to capital projects
  • Coordinate tracking of expenditures as it relates to projects
  • Complete all financial reporting and/or claims processing as required

Administration (10%):

  • Ensuring that all business registrations are filed and updated (Companies Office, WCB, Canada Life, etc)
  • Ensure that all financial policies are adhered to, which may include education and training for staff, etc.
  • Review and provide oversight of all contractual obligations for the company related to loans, leases, insurance, etc.
  • Participate in manager’s meeting as required

Working Conditions:

· 35+ working hours from Mon-Sat 8:30am-6pm, OT hours may arise when necessary

  • Long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time
  • Potential to be faced with frequent interruption
  • Repetitive tasks that may require intense concentration
  • There are critical deadlines associated with this position, which may cause additional stress
